What to do when your achilles heel needs an MRI (Thanks Greeny)

Thank you Mike Greenberg for helping me lose my writers block. The SI Cover Jinx is striking the Yankees and striking them HARD. So let’s see if we can make light of this whole situation. Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada were all hurt in the day since the Magazine was delivered to homes and Newsstands on April 28th. Posada was originally injured on April 27th in Baltimore after he was hit in the back of the knee with a pitch from O’s pitcher Jeremy Guthrie. Mariano last pitched in a game on April 30th against the White Sox, with some sort of tweak to his left side. Posada came back from the injury played the weekend series and then injured his right calf Monday, May 3rd running out of the batters box and was subsequently was taken out of the game by manager Joe Giradri. Andy Pettitte seemed to be cruising on May 5th through 5 innings and 77 pitches until, Left elbow fatigue forced him out of the gamecausing him to miss his next scheduled start. Look at the picture of the 4 players, Mo, Pet, and Jorgie appear to be having a good time where Derek Jeter appears stoic. Ok so Posada is grabbing Mo’s calf, Mo is just kinda standing there and Pet leg up holding onto Mo. Think I’m just rambling..

Enter Exhibit A:
On the SI 2008 NFL Preview Issue, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is pictured stretching before Super Bowl XLII. During the stretch his left knee is showing. 1st Qtr of Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, what happens, Brady tears his ACL and MCL and misses the remainder of the season and the patriots miss the playoffs for the 1st time since 2002.
Exhibit B:
Not just an excuse to have an image of the sexy as hell Lindsey Vonn, make an appearance on this blog. The 2010 Winter Olympics Preview, featured Alpine Skier Lindsey Vonn, during the week that her cover is on Newsstands, Vonn severely injures her right hin during a training crash, althought she went on to win Gold in Vancouver, she had a Bode Miller like showing disappointing her fans by not cashing in on the 4 races she was a favorite to win gold.
Do I really need to make more of a case I think not.
