Weekend in New England, Disaster

Bruins , Red Sox and Celtics OH MY.
What could be considered one of the biggest May Sports weekends in the greater Boston area, the only teams to have shown up so far are the Yankees, Cavs and Flyers.  The Bruins went into Friday nights game against the Flyers up 3 games to 0 in the Eastern Conference Semi Finals,  The Bruins would fall behind 3-1, and then would battle back to tie the game at 3, then went down 4-3 only to tie the game with less than 1 minute to go in the game.  Tied at 4 in overtime, Simon Gagne playing in his first game since the ECQF’ against the New Jersey Devils scored early in Overtime to send the series back to Boston for game 5 Monday night.
Which is uglier Game 3 of the Cavaliers and Celtics, the Yankee- Red Sox series or the Cleveland road Jerseys? HMMM.  Both the Red Sox and Celtics have long storied histories, have had a good run of success in recent years and both are home in Boston this weekend.  So I guess we look at the Celtics first because they only played Friday Night?  Lebron’s elbow which was the topic of the most discussion since Monday Night after the Cavs loss.  Well let’s put it this was I don’t think we have to worry about Lebron’s elbow until after he shoots his next left handed free throw.  The Celtics were outplayed in every aspect of the game and were throttled by the Cavs.  game 4 is Sunday afternoon at the new Garden.
Moving on to the Yankees and Red Sox at the Fens.  Friday night was billed as a pitchers duel and through the first 3 innings with Josh Beckett and Phil Hughes going toe to toe until Beckett hung a curve ball to Nick Swisher and swisher promptly put the pitch out of its misery into the Center Field camera well.  In the 6th inning the game took a turn for the worse when Beckett lost command and drilled Robinson Cano in the left knee, causing him to leave the game.  A bases loaded walk on a 3-2 pitch up and in to Francisco Cervelli and then drilling Derek Jeter in the back, 6 runs later and the Yankees were well on their way to a 10-3 series opening victory over the Sox.  Saturday’s game featured C.C. Sabathia facing off against Clay Bucholtz.  Much of the discussion during the day leading up to first pitch would be if Cano would play after being hit on Friday Night. Well Cano was back in the lineup batting 5th and starting at DH.  But the day belonged to Mark Teixiera and Francico Cervelli.  Teixiera would hit 3 HR’s the first Yankee to accomplish that feat against the Red Sox since Lou Gehrig.  Cervelli helped the Yankees put the game out of reach with 5 RBI’s on the day before the rains came.  C.C. Sabathia was well on his way to his 5th win of the year when the teams were taken off the field with a 2-2 count and 2 outs on Victor Martinez at the plate.  A 74 minute rain delay would ensue and Sabathia would not come back into the game to finish off the 5th to give him the win.  Alfredo Aceves would come into the game to get the win in relief his 3rd of the season.  Sunday nights probable starter are A.J. Burnett and Jon Lester which promises to be a good pitching matchup.
Side Session:
What the hell are the Cleveland Cavaliers wearing?  These maroon versions of the Mark Price jerseys are hideous.  Maybe next year Lebron will force the wearing of the Bobby Sura jerseys.  Just saying.
